How you can change your display name on your WhatsApp can be confusing. The process may differ slightly on different applications such as iPhone and Android. Choosing your name is really important as WhatsApp displays your telephone number as your unique identifier so it can be difficult for other group members to identify you if you are in any WhatsApp groups.
Thankfully, the process to change your display name on WhatsApp is relatively simple.
- Open WhatsApp
- Press Options
> Settings - Select your display name
- Press the ‘EDIT’
button and enter your new name. You can also select emojis by pressing the ‘EMOJI’ symbol too. 
- There is a 25 character limit for display names.
- Press Save.
Your display name will be visible to other users in all WhatsApp groups who don’t have your contact information saved in their phone’s address book.
